Over the past couple of years I’ve written a few articles about tips and tricks with the Windows Command Line. Several readers have left comments about CygWin and GNUWin32. If you want more flexible tools, and have the ability/authority to install them, you might take a look. But for those who either like the Windows Shell, or have no other choice, here’s a few ideas for use in the pure Windows Shell.
Note: These all work in Windows XP, but if you’re in Windows 2000 you might be out of luck. Give ‘em a try and see though.
